In a new four-part video series with David Seal, SeaNet SuperYachts invites viewers behind the scenes of a milestone few ever have the opportunity to witness: the delivery of a brand-new 53-metre superyacht.

Filmed in Viareggio, Italy, the first episode follows the final and most demanding moments before the yacht begins her maiden voyage to Malta.

 For most experienced yacht owners, sole ownership is the default model. Cost optimization is commonly approached through charter, while private use is planned around availability and demand. This mindset is understandable and widespread, yet in practice, it often delivers less flexibility, more friction, and greater inefficiency than anticipated.

Globally, private superyacht owners use their yachts on average five to six weeks per year. This limitation is rarely financial; it is driven by time. For ultra-high-net-worth individuals, time is not only scarce but constantly competed for. Business leadership, board responsibilities, family commitments, travel, philanthropy, and a wide range of personal interests all draw from the same finite resource. As a result, even the most passionate yacht owners are realistically constrained in how many weeks per year they can spend on board.

Sole ownership nevertheless requires owners to carry 100% of the acquisition cost, operating expenses, crew responsibility, and idle time, regardless of actual usage. To mitigate this imbalance, more than 75% of superyachts worldwide are offered for charter, not out of enthusiasm but as a means of cost recovery.

Charter-based cost optimization comes with inherent trade-offs. Charter demand is highly concentrated in the Mediterranean high season, from mid-June to early September, precisely the period when owners most want to use their yacht themselves. A similar pattern exists during the winter season, where peak charter demand is concentrated around the Christmas and New Year period, with the high concentration of superyachts in and around St. Barths in the Caribbean serving as a clear example. In both cases, charter activity and private owner use compete for the same prime cruising windows, creating structural conflicts rather than true flexibility.

Charter income itself is inherently uncertain. Each season begins without clarity on how many charter weeks will materialize, making forward planning difficult. Beyond financial unpredictability, charter also affects how a yacht is used and maintained. Charter guests naturally approach the yacht with a rental mindset, seeking to maximize experiences within a limited timeframe. This leads to increased wear on the yacht, higher operational intensity, and additional pressure on the crew. While this is not a criticism, it is a structural reality of short-term charter usage.

In this context, co-ownership is often dismissed prematurely and mistakenly associated with timesharing. Professionally structured yacht co-ownership, however, bears no resemblance to timesharing models.

This year’s conferences and workshops explored critical topics including sustainability, emerging onboard technologies, operational efficiency, crew wellbeing, and evolving owner expectations.

The event also offered first-hand insight into Benetti’s latest yacht designs and technological advancements. From next-generation bridge systems to enhanced energy management solutions, these innovations play a vital role in how SeaNet advises clients across co-ownership, acquisition, and full-service yacht management.

Equally valuable was the opportunity to strengthen relationships with captains, crew, and technical partners. The Yachtmaster’s crew-centric perspective ensures real operational experience informs yacht design and service infrastructure — an approach closely aligned with SeaNet’s commitment to operational excellence.

SeaNet Superyachts is proud to announce the successful launch of M/Y HEED, a 53-metre full-custom, full-aluminium superyacht built by Rossinavi and launched in Pisa, Italy.

Now under the management of SeaNet Superyachts, M/Y HEED represents the culmination of a close and collaborative journey between the Owner, the shipyard, and an experienced team of designers and technical specialists. SeaNet Superyachts was as ‘Owners Representative’ in charge of the entire project supported by our strategic partner Nicolai Yacht Consulting for the technical project management and supervision.

This September, SeaNet returned to the Cannes Yachting Festival, one of Europe’s most anticipated showcases of marine excellence, and once again, it proved to be the ideal stage to share our vision for the future of yacht ownership.

From our stand at SYE 112 in the Superyacht Extension, we welcomed guests, clients, and industry peers to experience how SeaNet continues to lead in co-ownership, matchmaking, and full-service yacht management. Conversations were focused, meaningful, and forward-looking, the kind of encounters that define Cannes.

Our presence at the festival underscored what we’ve always believed: true luxury isn’t about excess, it’s about experience. It’s about making ownership smarter, partnerships stronger, and every moment on board effortless.

Starting with breakfast on the coastline of Oostende, the day unfolded with precision and style, winding through the charming backdrops of Brugge, Oostburg, and Cadzand. From drinks at the historic Brouwerij Halve Maan to lunch by the water at De Brugse Vaart and an afternoon pause at Landgoed Nooren, each stop reflected the kind of curated experience we at SeaNet strive to deliver on board every yacht we manage.

Our journey culminated at the refined La Reserve Resort in Knokke, where a serene check-in was followed by an elegant dinner at ‘Silver Lakes’ and a vibrant night of celebration with a surprise guest and DJ-led afterparty.

This 35M yacht is now under full Yacht, Crew & Hospitality Management with SeaNet Superyachts. The yacht is co-owned by three partners, each holding a 33.33% share and it is registered in Malta and sails under the Maltese flag.

As a member of Atlante Yachts’ semi-custom range, the yacht was delivered early July 2025 following her launch in Tuzla and successful sea trials. With exterior and interior design by VYD Studio and naval architecture by Arrabito Naval Architects, the yacht reflects a refined balance between elegance and functionality. The steel hull and aluminium superstructure support a substantial volume of 330 GT, allowing for spacious guest accommodations and long-range cruising capabilities.

The Atlante Classic 35M offers five staterooms for up to 10 guests, expansive deck areas, a beach club, and a sundeck tailored for entertaining.
